About Us > Principals > Tony Spinks

Tony joined the HydroPlan team in 2003 and has over 16 years experience in the irrigation and pumping industry. He holds a Diploma of Irrigation and certificates in Contract Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. He is the Principal Consultant of the Sydney office and a Certified Irrigation Designer (Golf) and Certified Irrigation Auditor.

Prior to a career path change in 1993, Tony spent 13 years in the thermal power industry. He completed a trade certificate as a Fitter Machinist with the Electricity Commission of NSW before moving into a role in administration, Contract Management and Supervision on power station construction and rehabilitation.

This was excellent training for his irrigation and pumping career which started with a contracting firm in the Hunter Valley in 1993. He soon became the Irrigation Systems Manager responsible for design and construction contracts for a large variety of new and existing systems.

Since joining HydroPlan Tony has continually expanded his skills in design and project management and provides a high level of service by drawing on his considerable experience and technical knowledge. He has designed and supervised hundreds of projects in rural and urban NSW, and is often involved on projects interstate and overseas.
