HydroPlan designed an extensive irrigation system for the City of Joondalup in Western Australia and is still extending it a decade later.
The water supply is non-potable (groundwater and stormwater).
The mainline and control system has been extended with each expansion stage. There are some 700 automatic valves operated by the one central system.
Landscaping and irrigation of verges is established early and then handed over to the new landowners by disconnecting at a specially provided connection point.
LMC and LandCorp have similar roles. LandCorp was created in 1992 through the amalgamation of the Joondalup Development Corporation, the Industrial Lands Development Authority and the residential development operations of the Western Australian Development Corporation.
