Royal Botanic Gardens - Sydney
Could there be a more historic and picturesque setting that identifies New South Wales capital city so well as "the gardens"?
Nestled around Farm Cove with Bennelong Point and Mrs. Macquaries Point as its east and west harbour boundaries the Royal Botanic Gardens forms the start of a massive parkland 'green belt' in the heart of Sydney's Central Business District.
HydroPlan has been engaged since 1998 through the Department of Commerce in planning and documenting both irrigation concepts and automatic system constructions for the Sydney Botanic Gardens. This has included booster pumps from city mains and radio activated control systems.
They have also designed a separate irrigation ring main that will eventually be used with a recycled water supply to meet the challenge of Sydney's dwindling potable water supplies as the current drought conditions continue to impact on the metropolis.
