Willunga Basin Reclaimed Water Pipeline

Primageone11

The Willunga Basin Pipeline is a large reclaimed water scheme which is owned and operated by its water users. Despite being funded without government assistance, it continues to expand, providing a catalyst for economic growth, replacing stressed groundwater and reducing nutrient discharge to the sea.

Demonstrating water saving techniques

The renowned Botantic Gardens of Adelaide commissioned HydroPlan to design and project manage the installation of new delivery systems throughout the gardens that demonstrated both water saving techniques and provided best practice.

Stream rotor sprinklers were selected to minimise foliage damage whilst still providing the necessary penetration for uniform coverage. In selected areas, inline drip was installed to limit water wastage.

A major issue of overspray onto paths has now been reduced dramatically providing a safer environment for the patronage.
