Prior to handover of the non-potable network at Mawson Lakes to SA Water and open space irrigation to City of Salisbury, Delfin Lend Lease and partners engaged HydroPlan to liaise with all stakeholders to prepare an Irrigation Management Plan for submission to the EPA.

Class A equivalent water from the Bolivar DAFF plant and the Parafield wetlands Aquifer Storage and Recovery scheme are delivered to a second meter at every residence for toilet and garden usage as well as 100 ha of parks, landscapes and public open space.

The IMP considers environmental effects of irrigation with reclaimed water, a detailed monitoring plan of critical control points, and contingency plans for risk management.
