The development of a new senior school campus is reflective of the rapidly expanding city of Mandurah, located just 70 kilometres south of Perth.
Situated on a 7 hectare site, Coastal Lakes College has an impressive array of facilities including a performing arts centre complete with film and television studios, a commercial kitchen, gymnasium, hydrotherapy pool and an extensive library. The College’s outdoor facilities were equally impressive with landscaped gardens, alfresco classrooms, multiple courtyards, and even its own wetland complex.
HydroPlan was engaged by Badge Perkins to develop the concept design for Coastal Lakes College, before being invited back to complete the detailed design for the sites irrigation system. Our design team worked across 1.4 hectares of irrigated landscapes, developing a site plan that used irrigation corridors to reduce the number of valves required, while still maintaining the required pressure level. The design also included the strategic placement of water tanks to minimise the impact on the design aesthetic.
Our team also provided contract documentation and project administration services to oversee the procurement and installation of irrigation infrastructure. Before commissioning of the new system, HydroPlan consultants attended the site to ensure the components had been installed inline with the contract documentation.
